Welcome to TownTable. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the TownTable mobile application, website, and services ("Platform"). By using TownTable, you agree to these Terms.

1. About TownTable

TownTable is a hyperlocal food ordering platform designed for local environments. It connects users ("Customers") with food vendors ("Merchants") within a limited geographic area.

TownTable does not provide delivery services. All deliveries are fulfilled directly by the Merchants.

2. User Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old or use the Platform under supervision of a legal guardian.
  • You agree to provide accurate account details including email and hostel information.

3. Account & Usage

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
  • Any activity under your account is your responsibility.
  • Misuse of the platform may lead to suspension or termination.

4. Orders & Payments

4.1 Order Placement

  • Orders are placed through the Platform and sent directly to the Merchant.
  • Once an order is placed, it cannot be modified.

4.2 Payment Method

  • Payments are processed via UPI or other supported methods.
  • You may be redirected to a third-party app to complete the payment.

4.3 Payment Confirmation

  • Orders are confirmed only after the Merchant verifies the payment.
  • TownTable is not responsible for delays in confirmation by the Merchant.

5. Platform Fee & Charges

  • A platform fee may be charged on each order.
  • This fee is non-refundable, regardless of order status.
  • Additional charges (if any) will be displayed before checkout.

6. Refund & Cancellation Policy

6.1 Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled by:

  • Customer (before preparation begins)
  • Merchant (due to unavailability or other reasons)

6.2 Refunds

If an order is cancelled:

  • The food amount is refunded
  • The platform fee is non-refundable

Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable time.

6.3 Merchant Responsibility

Since delivery is handled by Merchants, TownTable is not responsible for:

  • Delivery delays
  • Food quality issues

7. Merchant Responsibility

Merchants are solely responsible for:

  • Food preparation and quality
  • Hygiene and safety
  • Delivery execution

TownTable acts only as a technology platform connecting users and merchants.

8. Ratings & Reviews

  • Users may rate and review orders.
  • Reviews must be genuine and not abusive.
  • TownTable reserves the right to remove inappropriate content.

9. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for fraudulent transactions
  • Abuse merchants or other users
  • Attempt to disrupt platform functionality
  • Misuse payment systems

10. Limitation of Liability

TownTable shall not be liable for:

  • Food quality or safety issues
  • Delivery delays or failures
  • Payment disputes between user and merchant
  • Any indirect or consequential damages

11. Termination

TownTable may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior

12. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms

TownTable reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to jurisdiction of the courts in Guwahati.
