Account & Data Deletion

At TownTable, we value your privacy and give you full control over your personal data. If you no longer wish to use our campus food ordering platform, you can request to have your account and associated personal data permanently deleted.
How to Request Account Deletion
You can request account deletion at any time by following the steps below:
Via Email Request
You can request deletion via email by sending us your details:
- Send an email to towntable.app@gmail.com from the email address associated with your TownTable account.
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request".
- Include your registered Full Name and Phone Number in the body of the email.
- Our support team will verify your identity and process the deletion within 7 to 14 business days.
What Happens When Your Account is Deleted?
When your deletion request is processed, the following actions occur in our database (Supabase):
Data That Will Be Permanently Deleted:
- Authentication Data: Your login credentials, user ID, and active sessions.
- Profile Data: Your full name, email address, profile picture (avatar_url), and hostel details.
- Payment Methods: Any saved preferences linked directly to your profile.
Data That Will Be Retained (and Why):
- Anonymized Order History: We retain transaction records (order amounts, items ordered, and merchant details) to ensure our merchants receive accurate payouts, for tax accounting purposes, and to prevent fraud. This data is permanently unlinked from your personal identity.
- Anonymized Reviews: Any ratings or reviews you submitted will remain to help future users and merchants, but your name and avatar will be removed and displayed as "Anonymous Student."
Data Retention Period
Once an account deletion is requested and verified, your personal data will be wiped from our active databases within 14 days. Retained financial records are kept securely for periods mandated by Indian tax and accounting laws.
